Competitive, welcoming, fast.
Southern Cross is a club racing team built around a 33′ Frers. We like getting the most out of the boat, we race the local series, and we are happy to bring new people along.
How we sail
Competitive but not grim. Good seamanship, clear communication on deck, and a beer at the dock afterward. Everyone on board has a job and knows what it is before the gun.
We sail out of Westbrook, Connecticut on Long Island Sound — close enough to the starting line that a weeknight race is a weeknight, not an expedition.
Our skipper
Chris Moore skippers Southern Cross. He calls tactics, drives, and keeps the boat fast and safe.
